What Is a Wood Fired Hot Tub?
A wood fired hot tub is an outdoor tub heated by a log-burning stove instead of electricity. The stove sits inside the tub or alongside it, warming the water to 38°C to 40°C. No power supply and no plumbing: a garden hose to fill it, dry firewood to heat it.
Also called a wood burning hot tub, or a log burner hot tub, it is the oldest way to bathe outdoors and still the best. The crackle of the fire, the smell of cut timber, steam lifting into cold air.

How Does a Wood Fired Hot Tub Work?
Logs burn in a stainless steel stove, either submerged in the tub or fitted alongside it. Heat passes straight through the stove wall into the water, and convection circulates it. There are no pumps and no controls. You feed the fire and the water warms steadily.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a wood fired hot tub need electricity?
No. The water is heated entirely by the stove. Power is only needed for optional extras such as jets, lighting or filtration, and our off-grid models have none of those.
How long does it take to heat up?
About 1.5 hours in summer and 2.5 in winter, from cold mains water. Keeping the insulated lid on while it heats makes a noticeable difference.
How much firewood does it use?
Around 10 to 15 kg of dry hardwood per session, more in deep winter. Bought by the bulk bag rather than in nets, it costs roughly half as much per kilo.
How long will it last?
10 years for spruce and 20 or more for larch, with annual oiling. Acrylic-lined tubs usually outlast their cladding, and the cladding can be replaced.
How soon can I get one?
In-stock models ship in 1 to 3 days and made-to-order tubs take 4 to 8 weeks. We deliver across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
